At the Shalom Center we would not be able to provide as much assistance as we do were it not for the 700+ volunteers that dedicate their time to helping in our programs.
We value our volunteers and hope to find areas that create the right fit for each volunteer. Some points to remember before filling out the volunteer profile:
We don't provide "drop in" dates for volunteers, please be ready to commit for a while. Many volunteers have been with us for up to 20+ years.
Remember that there is always an issue of confidentiality, please don't talk about the clients� or their issues.
If you would like to volunteer in the Soup Kitchen serving dinner, please contact your church or business to see if they volunteer and whether you can join their group. We have over 45 different faith-based and civic organzations who each volunteer one night per month. This is not an individual volunteer opportunity.
Please keep in mind that it may take some time to be contacted by the person(s) coordinating the program you are interested in volunteering with.
